Stock markets at all-time highs. What comes next?
A short update on what recent market momentum means for your long-term plan, and what I am watching closely.
Dear clients and friends, this update is meant to highlight what market momentum means for your long-term plan and what I am watching closely.
The past few weeks have shown that market sentiment can shift rapidly. After a period of volatility in March and April, U.S. shares are now trading near record levels again. Strong earnings, especially in technology and AI-related sectors, have been a major driver.
Higher prices at the pump are noticeable, but the broader economy is still growing. Inflation is moving closer to central bank targets, which is why the Czech National Bank, the FED, and the ECB remain cautious about cutting rates too soon.
One important distinction is that an “all-time high” is not the same as a market peak. Peaks are identified only in hindsight. History shows that markets can continue higher after reaching new peaks, even though corrections are a normal part of the journey.
Long-term perspective helps us stay focused on discipline instead of headlines.

What this means for your plan
What we know with almost certainty is that the next decade will include more corrections, sell-offs, and periods of uncertainty. What we cannot know is the exact timing, depth, or duration of those moves.
That is precisely why the most valuable investment behavior is not trying to time the market, but staying consistent with the strategy we have built together. A portfolio designed for both growth and volatility is better positioned for long-term success.
The active element today is patience: staying invested through changes instead of reacting to every headline.
I also wanted to share that this Saturday, May 16th, I will be speaking at the Brno Expat Fair 2026 in Market Hall at Zelný trh. If you are there, I would be very happy to meet you in person.
If you would like to review how current market conditions affect your mortgage, investment, or long-term financial plan, I would be happy to speak with you.
